A Glance Back over 2009

One of the highlights of this year has been the summer exchange programme for students to Enxomil, Portugal. Students taking part not only enjoyed the whole experience of Portuguese culture and lifestyle, but they also learned from each other and were able to transmit their knowledge of British culture and customs to the Portuguese.

The current Second Years successfully completed their Housekeeping work placements in three London Hotel and Catering establishments and continue to put into practise what they learned there.

Lakefield trainees helped out at The Restaurant Show again this year, and they were as a grateful as ever for this opportunity to work alongside chefs and support them.

Finally the WOW 2009 Cake Decorating Competition attracted entries from across the UK, and as proud hostesses of this event, Lakefield students readily gave their expert advice...
