In order to work in the catering industry it is essential that you have this certificate which provides you with the knowledge required to safely prepare, cook and serve food.

In this course you will learn to work safely and confidently by studying the importance of Health and Safety, the main hazards in any working environment and how to deal with emergencies.

Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets from the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health
This qualification is concerned with the basic principles of nutrition, and has as its focus the key role of nutrition in Health. This course will enable you to understand the role of a healthy diet in relation to health, how food processing affects the nutritional quality of food and how a nutrient deficiency or excess can contribute to ill health.

Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Healthier Foods and Special Diets from the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health
You will look at the nutritional value of food and its importance on diets, and how this can be affected by food processing and cooking methods. At the end of this course you will be able to understand the relationship of food and health.
Duration: 4 to 5 days
