April Poblete has been awarded a City & Guilds Lion Award, one of the hospitality industry’s most highly contested international awards. After a competitive selection process, 200 potential winners are shortlisted, and of these only eight people are chosen as overall leaders of each of the categories: Learner of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Future Leader of the Year, Centre of the Year, Tutor of the Year, International Learner of the Year and Outstanding Achiever of the Year.
The annual Lion Awards aims to reward talented educational professionals and students who display exceptional standards.
25 year-old April Poblete, selected as one of the nine winners of the 2015 Lion Awards, is overjoyed at the news and grateful to Lakefield for the training and opportunities it has given her.
“I’m really thankful to everyone, to my tutors and to Lakefield for still believing in me. I could not contain my happiness after receiving an award again!”
The prestigious awards ceremony will announce the winners of each category on 17th of June at an exclusive venue in Regents Park, London, followed by a celebration. This is the third prize April has won this year.
It is truly an honour for Lakefield that one of our students was chosen to receive this Award. This is not only a privilege for the College, but is also an optimistic encouragement for all the students to aim high and strive to fulfil their potential in this crucial professional field.
