April Poblete

April Poblete is the current Head of the Food Service Department. She has NVQ’s in various hospitality qualifications and currently is a qualified Hospitality NVQ assessor responsible for assessing NVQ level 2 and level 3 students, she is also a WorldSkills UK trainer for Food and Beverage. April is also responsible for training and monitoring student progress and part of the Training Centre Committee team.

Winner of several national hospitality prizes,  April has received National awards like Cherry-Grainger Prize 2015 from the Worshipful Company of Cooks 2015, City and Guilds Medal for Excellence 2015 and the prestigious Lion Awards “Future Leader of the Year 2015“.

April also has a knowledge of Digital marketing being responsible for Lakefield’s social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and writing articles for the website. She is also in charge of the media communication of the College.

 April’s amazing story has also been covered in InTuition Magazine by the Society for Educational Training.
