Lakefield’s Fish Demonstration at Passmores Academy in Harlow
Lakefield’s Fish Demonstration at Passmores Academy in Harlow. On the 31st of January, three students from Lakefield went to Passmores Academy in Harlow where they taught a year 10 class how to fillet a Mackerel and a Plaice and then how to cook with the fish. Erica and Naine, Level 2 Professional students, felt confident that they were teaching their peers something that they were skilled at and they were very excited at the prospect. Once the lesson had started both took on a teaching role and they took it in turns to demonstrate individually and talk through what they were doing. Erica in particular, was very animated during this task and is very good at talking to a group. The members of staff at the school were very impressed with what all the students achieved and the feedback forms were full of positive comments. One said “I think it would be good if my school invested in some filleting knives so we can do this more often”.
